If you're looking into going Paleo and are also seeing reasons for having the Primal diet, it could be a bit complicated. Trans Fatty acids: Within margarine and different processed foods. Usually referred to as hydrogenated” or partially hydrogenated” oils. Elimination is the only path to learn food intolerance for me. From personal experience having tummy and small intestine biopsies finding nothing, to getting rid of foods. Elimination has been the matter that has worked the best for me.
Most Paleo individuals of today do none of this, apart from occasional hunting trips or a little metropolitan foraging. Instead, their diet is largely defined by what they don't do: most do not eat dairy or processed grains of any kind, because humans didn't invent such foods until following the Paleolithic; peanuts, lentils, beans, peas and other legumes are from the menu, but nut products are okay; beef is consumed in large quantities, often cooked in creature fat of some kind; Paleo dieters sometimes eat berries and frequently devour vegetables; and refined sugars are prohibited, but a little honey occasionally is fine.
As for time, I love to make just a little extra the night before of the simple protein or veggie I cook for dinner, so I may take it with me to work the very next day and spice it in another way. I make an effort to be strategic. So if I am making BBQ rooster for supper, I make one or two extra chicken chest and make hen salad for meal (only takes a minute or two for the dressing). Appetizers include trail mix, jerky, handmade applesauce, raw vegetables with our Ranch dressing, our snack pubs, etc. When out and about, first always ask about gluten free alternatives - a whole lot of restaurants have them. If not, then try to stick to the fundamentals - complete foods. The less interesting the meals, the safer most commonly it is - grilled chicken breast, salad w/ dressing, salmon w/combined vegetables, etc. Or, bring something to treat on to you (like I really do, as Angel and I both get grumpy when we get hungry).
